SHMS is seeking a committed and nurturing educator for the 2026-2027 school year for the position of 8th Grade Language Arts and Literature Teacher. SHMS is Catholic co-educational school and is an authorized International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme. The IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) approaches to teaching and learning are centered on developing the whole child through a cycle of action, inquiry, and reflection. SHMS classrooms are student-centered. The IB philosophy places a strong emphasis on critical thinking, cooperative group work and social responsibility.

Teacher Certification is required. Experience in teaching language arts and literature is preferred. The candidate should be skilled and knowledgeable in best teaching practices in a 21st century classroom and dedicated to caring for all students, able to collaborate and communicate effectively, and have a strong desire to learn, to implement innovative strategies, and to cultivate leadership in his/her students.
