Description
Sacred Heart School for the Arts has been providing arts education to the Louisville community for more than 50 years. Founded by the Ursuline Sisters, SHSA is committed to creating and providing a culture of excellence in teaching that provides outstanding opportunities in visual arts, dance, music, and drama to students throughout the Kentuckiana area.
SHSA is seeking a creative and enthusiastic Drama Teacher to lead weekly drama classes for kindergarten through second grade students three hours per week. Days are flexible but the timing of the class is 3:15-4:15pm. This role involves fostering a love of performing arts through fun and age-appropriate activities that build confidence, creativity, and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
· Plan and deliver engaging drama lessons tailored to K-2 students.
· Use games, storytelling, role-play, and simple scripts to introduce basic drama concepts.
· Encourage participation, teamwork, and self-expression in a supportive environment.
· Manage a small group of young learners effectively during each session.
· Communicate progress and highlights to school staff or parents as needed.
