Ursuline Innovation STEM Center with the Ursuline Environmental Education Program and Design Lab
Goal: $2,500,000
Raised: $2,370,000
The Ursuline Innovation STEM Center, the first comprehensive center of its kind in Louisville, is a cutting-edge hub for environmental education and design innovation.
It transforms the historic and treasured Ursuline Sisters of Louisville laundry facility, which was an important and memorable space for young novices.
It also stands as a testament to the Ursuline Sisters of Louisville and Sacred Heart’s commitment to Pope Francis’ encyclical Laudato Si’ – care for our common home. Central to this commitment will include the St. Kateri Research Greenhouse – an important feature of our Environmental Education program.
One of the largest facility of its kind, students dive into real-world challenges using the IB design cycle—fostering inquiry, collaboration, and engineering excellence. This center is more than a space; it’s a bold step toward shaping innovative leaders who will protect transform our world.

Currently, students must conduct robotics work in hallways due to a lack of space, but this new lab will give them the room and resources necessary to explore their creativity fully.
