Sacred Heart School for the Arts has been providing arts education to the Louisville community for more than 50 years. Founded by the Ursuline Sisters, SHSA is committed to creating and providing a culture of excellence in teaching that provides outstanding opportunities in visual arts, dance, music, and drama to students throughout the Kentuckiana area.
We are seeking a creative, patient, and compassionate Preschool Art Teacher to join our Catholic school community. In this unique position, you will bring arts integration to our youngest learners (ages 1-2) using the Primary Years Program (PYP) framework. Working from a mobile art cart, you will move between classrooms, fostering creative expression while weaving faith-based perspectives into every lesson. This position is Monday through Friday from 9:00am – 12:00pm.
As our Preschool Art Teacher, you will deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate arts instruction across multiple classrooms. Using a provided curriculum, you will create meaningful learning experiences that honor both artistic development and our Catholic mission. Your role is to inspire wonder, curiosity, and creativity in our youngest students while collaborating with classroom teachers to support their instructional goals.
Key Responsibilities
· Deliver arts instruction to 1-2 year old students across multiple classrooms using a cart-based delivery system
· Implement provided curriculum aligned with the Primary Years Program (PYP) framework
· Integrate faith-based perspectives and Catholic values into arts education
· Foster a welcoming, inclusive environment that celebrates each child's creative expression
· Collaborate with classroom teachers to support classroom routines and learning objectives
· Maintain and organize art materials and supplies on the mobile cart
· Potentially support our after-school community art program (optional, flexible arrangement)

Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Teaching experience required.
