Description
Sacred Heart School for the Arts seeks an energetic and skilled Ballet Dance Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for dance and a talent for teaching students of varying ages and skill levels. This role involves developing and teaching dance technique, pointe, and variations, ensuring students' progress, and fostering a love for dance in a fun and supportive environment. Some of these students are on a pre-collegiate track.

Requirements
Plan and deliver syllabus driven dance instruction.

Tailor classes to accommodate different age groups and skill levels, ensuring each student is challenged and encouraged.

Monitor and assess students' progress, providing constructive feedback and individualized support.

Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that encourages creativity and self-expression.

Ensure the safety and well-being of all students during classes and activities.

Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding students' progress and any class updates.

Stay current with dance trends, techniques, and teaching methods.

Collaborate with other instructors and staff to enhance the overall dance program.

Organize and assist with dance-related events, including showcases and recitals.

Abides by school hours of operation and calendar scheduling.

Reports to work at least 15 minutes before classes begin and remain until all classes are completed.


Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Dance, Dance Education, or a related field preferred.

Previous experience teaching Ballet to children and teenagers.

Proficiency in ballet technique and pointe.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to create a positive and engaging learning environment.

Patience, creativity, and a passion for working with children and teens.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to adapt lessons to meet the needs and interests of different age groups and skill levels.

First Aid/CPR certification is a plus.


Working Conditions

Classes are held in studio.

Flexible schedule, including afternoons, evenings, and weekends as needed.

Physical requirements may include standing for extended periods, demonstrating dance moves, and assisting students with techniques and routines.
