We are delighted to introduce the second issue of "The Laurel." This annual magazine features academic and creative contributions by Sacred Heart Schools faculty, students and alumnae, capturing the diverse scholarly interests and accomplishments of a flourishing intellectual and compassionate community.
The laurel tree has long been a part of the Ursuline history and is a significant element of the Ursuline Coat of Arms. Its roots press down deep into the mountain of God, the Holy Church, and so it grows mightily. The growth symbolizing progress in the spiritual life. While rooted in the earth, we stay faithful to our Ursuline legacy and yet the spreading branches across boundaries show our commitment to the future.
