Open auditions for the Louisville Youth Choir's 51st consecutive season will be held on Aug. 22 and 24 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Sacred Heart School for the Arts, Angela Hall, bldg. 17 at 3105 Lexington Rd. on the Ursuline Campus. Private auditions may also be scheduled. Each year, the Louisville Youth Choir, artists in residence at Sacred Heart School for the Arts, draws more than 100 youth from throughout the metropolitan area who have a passion for singing. Its musical repertoire includes many styles and cultures, including major classics and modern works, often performed with soloists and orchestras.
The 2017-2018 Louisville Youth Choir will include Primary Singers, K - 2nd grade students (non-auditioned session, running October 17 - December 8) and choral offerings for auditioned 3rd - 12th grade students for beginning and intermediate treble voices, intermediate mixed ensemble and advance treble voices.
Students will perform in a minimum of four concerts: an Opening Fall Concert, a December Christmas Festival, a Sing in the Spring Concert, and a Pops Concert.
