Mary Lee McCoy, principal of Sacred Heart Academy, has announced that the following rising seniors have been accepted into the 2018 Governor's Scholars Program: Kathryn Boroughs, Keely Burns, Margaret Cunningham, Mary Geddie, Eleanor Hinkebein, Kate McLarney and Julie Ries. The mission of the summer residential program for outstanding rising seniors is to enhance Kentucky's next generation of civic and economic leaders.
McCoy announced that the following students have been accepted into the 2018 Governor's School for the Arts: Mary Kelty '19 (dance) and Emily Hilbrecht '20 (musical theatre). GSA provides three weeks of hands-on-arts opportunities for talented rising junior and senior high school students.
McCoy also announced sophomore Lucy Seay's acceptance into the 2018 Governor's School for Entrepreneurs. GSE is a unique entrepreneurship program which places a strong emphasis on innovation and design as elements of creating a sustainable business model.
