The Louisville Youth Choir has announced registration for its Primary Singers Program for singers in Kindergarten, First and Second Grades. No audition is required and no previous music experience is necessary.

Rehearsals are on Tuesday evenings from 5:00-5:45 p.m. and will begin on October 17 and end on December 5. The program will conclude with a performance at the annual Christmas Festival Concert on December 8. Rehearsals will be held at Sacred Heart School for the Arts, Angela Hall, bldg. 17, 3105 Lexington Rd., on the Ursuline Campus.

"LYC strives to meet unmet artistic needs in our community. A choir for this age level assures that even the youngest singers have the opportunity to explore vocal music. The vast majority of schools are not able to afford this opportunity to elementary age singers—we are fortunate that we can," says Terri E. Foster, artistic/executive director of The Louisville Youth Choir.

The Louisville Youth Choir is comprised of over 100 singers from more than 60 schools and home schools in the Louisville and southern Indiana areas. The Louisville Youth Choir was established in 1967 to create young stars of today and leaders of tomorrow. Its musical repertoire includes many styles and cultures, including major classics and modern works, often performed with soloists and orchestras. The Louisville Youth Choir is artist in residence at Sacred Heart School for the Arts, a member of Sacred Heart Schools, and is a member group of the Fund for the Arts.
