Open auditions for the Louisville Youth Choir's 49th season will be held on August 25 and 27 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Sacred Heart School for the Arts, Angela Hall, bldg. 17 at 3105 Lexington Rd. on the Ursuline Campus. Private auditions may also be scheduled. Rehearsals will begin September 8. Each year, the Louisville Youth Choir, artists in residence at Sacred Heart School for the Arts, draws more than 100 youth from throughout the metropolitan area who have a passion for singing. Its musical repertoire includes many styles and cultures, including major classics and modern works, often performed with soloists and orchestras.
The 2015-2016 Louisville Youth Choir will include opportunities for 1st – 3rd grade students (non-auditioned: beginning in October with registration open now) and a variety of ensembles for 4th – 12th grade students (auditioned: beginning, intermediate and advanced treble and mixed voices). Students will perform in four concerts: a fall concert, a December Christmas festival, a spring Arts-In-Action concert, and a Pops concert.
