Sacred Heart Academy Swim Team Takes State

Sacred Heart Academy held a school-wide pep rally to celebrate the swim team's state championship win. During the pep rally, the team presented the state championship trophy to Mary Lee McCoy, SHA principal.

This is the fourth consecutive championship for Sacred Heart Academy. The Valkyries finished with 435 points, won seven of 12 events and set five state records.

Tonner DeBeer, Kennedy Lohman, Asia Seidt and Brooke Bauer won the 200 medley relay with a record time of 1:40.61 – the second-fastest time in national high school history.

Seidt won the 200 individual medley with a time of 1:56.83 and the 100 backstroke with a time of 52.89, beating her own state record in both events. Seidt was also named Outstanding Meet Competitor.

Brooke Forde set a state record in the 200 free with a time of 1:46.76.

Brooke Forde, Asia Seidt, Brooke Bauer and Kennedy Lohman were named first-team All State.
