Sacred Heart Academy's athletic program, earning 80 team state athletic team championships, has a long tradition of excellence and achievement in girls' high school sports. We are proud to offer students the opportunity to participate in high school athletics and to be part of the school's heritage. More than 50% of our students participate in one of 15 sports offered here.
At SHA, we emphasize teamwork, good sportsmanship, and developing self-confidence. We give students the tools to reach their full potential on and off the court. The planning and implementation of SHA's athletic endeavors involve consideration of the physical, spiritual and emotional growth of each student athlete. Participation in athletics provides the athletes opportunities to experience personal and social maturation and practice the Ursuline core values.
Through SHA's athletic program, student athletes grow from learners to leaders. Twenty-three graduates in the Class of 2016 signed letters of intent to play collegiate sports.
All students who plan to try out for a sport, including cheerleading and dance, must have the approved KHSAA Physical Form completed before tryouts (no exceptions). This form can be found here or you can request one from the athletic office by emailing Mary Gordon Stough at email@example.com. KHSAA requires a yearly physical to be on file at the school.
