Fiddler on the Roof was one of the first Broadway musicals to deal with serious issues such as persecution, poverty and holding on to one's beliefs. The story centers on Tevye, a poor milkman, and his efforts to protect his family and his traditional way of life in the world that is changing around him. The production offers family values, laughter, tears and unforgettable characters who entertain with such iconic songs as Sunrise, Sunset, If I Were a Rich Man and Matchmaker.

"Life in Russia in 1905 is difficult at best as political upheaval and modern life begin to encroach on old traditions," said show director Dr. Anna Jo Paul. "Tevye, a poor dairyman, experiences these changes as he sees his world disappear with modernity. He tells the world that life is fragile and as precarious as a fiddler on the roof."

The musical is a collaborative effort between Sacred Heart School for the Arts and Sacred Heart Academy.
