The Sacred Heart Academy Valkyries and Trinity Shamrocks will take to the lacrosse field in a battle of the sticks on Tuesday, October 17 at 7 p.m. The "Rock the Heart" lacrosse game will benefit the Savannah Walker Scholarship Fund.
"We are honored this year to play for Savannah Walker and the scholarship in her name at the University of Louisville," said Dennis Truman, SHA varsity lacrosse coach. "Her loss was devastating to our entire lacrosse community. We hope by contributing to the scholarship our girls take to heart her passion of equality and how she exemplified leadership."
Walker was killed after being struck in the chest after a gunman fired into a crowd at a concert at the Tim Faulkner Art Gallery in March.
Sacred Heart Academy will host the battle on Horton Field, part of the Ursuline campus at 3177 Lexington Rd. The game is open to the public. Tickets are $5. Ages 10 and under are free.
